About Me
My group classes offer a time and space to gently move, stretch and relax with the intention to leave you feeling rejuvenated without depletion.
My practice has evolved, and my main interest now is in soothing the nervous system and coming into very relaxed states using a mixture of mobilisation, gentle movement, Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation) and non-moving Yoga (restorative) to get there - or sometimes just the use of one of these techniques on their own.
Having faced the challenges of chronic stress, anxiety, exhaustion and depletion I have been very much lead by my own life experience to research and test methods to help myself, and this is what I now share with others.
I understand how difficult is it to slow down enough, and that sometimes the fear of ‘If I stop I won’t start again’ forces us into a pattern of just ‘pushing through’ and eventual burnout. I also know how scary the idea of being left alone with your own thoughts might be for some people, Yoga is still a great option for this type of person - please email me to find out more.
We all know we can multitask, load our days up from morning till night - but what would it be like to do less? How might it be not to have ‘earned’ restoration but for it to form part of our daily routine?
Restoring parasympathetic nervous system function through the use of props to fully support the body in non-moving yoga poses can help produce a feeling of deep calm and lasting wellbeing. My role in a restorative based session is to hold the space for you to do this, correctly positioning your body to facilitate your stillness. The felt effect of the relaxation is immediate, can be long lasting and the poses can be re-created easily after the sessions in your own home.
Taking time out to attend a Yoga class, join me for a retreat or private session is the first footstep in the right direction.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or queries and I will do my best to help.
